Daar ontstaat een krachtig nationalisme en minderheden, waaronder Koerden, worden onderdrukt. Ook het woord ‘Koerden’ ligt gevoelig en ook de Koerdische taal wordt veelal ook niet geaccepteerd. Via alle beperkingen welke Turkije de Koerden oplegt, is die plaats buitengewoon achtergesteld.
